Not as much as you think, probably. Generally, old (more than 5 years) limited edition releases may be worth more than you paid if they are in mint condition. Don’t be fooled by exorbitant prices in record shops; it’s easy to slap a $100 price tag on a record, but much harder to actually find somebody willing to pay that much.
Particularly rare Erasure recordings include the limited Heavenly Action 12″ and the Crackers International II limited CD and 12″.

hay i was just wondering ive recently been sold a few vinyls i have come accreoss a rather odd one its multi coloured and just looks like someone has thrown multicoloured paint over it… it is called david and galiath and is set at 78 rpm is this weird and how much is it willing to be worth i think its acctualy the story of it on a 7 inch vynil as it says narated byedmond blakemen so i think it may well be the story .. also it says that it it includes full cast and orchestra so wot do you think this will be worth thanks for your yime daz

Interesting question — and an interesting record you have there! Sounds like what they call “speckled” vinyl. It doesn’t sound especially valuable unless there’s an Edward Blakeman Fan Club or something similar.
Hmm, a 78RPM 7″ single? That would have to be pretty short, no more than a few minutes. Strange. And presumably, not related to Erasure in any way. Nice diversion anyway.

May 26th, 2006 at 8:52 pm

Not related to Erasure, but thought I’d pick your brains… Bought a punk EP at auction; when I opened it the record was correct but the centre label was weird. The label should have been “Cherry Red” (UK), but this one was all French “Societe Nouvelle Areacem Echantillon” with no mention of the artist or EP title. Hand-written in ballpoint ink “12 Cherry 82″ on one side plus some other writing I cannot decipher. A friend suggested this may be a test pressing. Is this a rare and/or valuable type of vinyl record?
June 4th, 2006 at 8:31 pm
That punk EP does sound like a test pressing. Probably rare, but not necessarily valuable. An Erasure test pressing, on the other hand, would be worth a dollar or two…
