Frère Jacques

I know a lot of different rhymes and songs now and I like to say them all the time. One of the new ones I have learned is called “Frère Jacques”. It goes “Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques, Dormez vous? Dormez vous? Sonnez les matines, sonnez les matines, Ding Ding Dong, Ding Ding Dong”. I like singing this song. When I sing it Mum and Dad join in too. They clap their hands and smile when I remember all the words and sing it to the end. It’s such a fun song.

Even though I don’t know what it means at all.

Sleepy moon

I always like to look at the moon before I go to bed at night. But last night I looked out the window with Dad and there was no moon. So I looked at Dad and pointed up in the sky and said

Moon gone bed. Moon sleep.

And then I did the same.

Bath time

I like bath time because bath time means soap. I asked Dad last night:

Put soap on Jay’s tummy.

And he did. And soap means bubbles and bubbles mean fun!

Sing Star

Even when I was really little I liked listening to Mum and Dad sing to me. They sing all kinds of fun songs. Now I can sing the songs myself. My favourite is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. When I go to my swimming lessons Dad tries to get me to swim on my back by waving his hand high over my head and singing it. It’s my favourite song.

Now I can sing it with all the words and the tune and even do hand actions too. I can hold my hand up like a star and make a diamond out of my two hands. I surprised Dad a while ago when he was dressing me because I stood up and sang the whole song even though he had never heard me sing it before.

My hands are very interesting

Felix’s handI have discovered that I have my own hands and they are great! I can hold them up in front of me, and chew them when I am teething. Sometimes I clasp them together or make shapes with them.

Felix eating feetI really love my hands so I was delighted to find out that I also have some interesting feet! They are also good for looking at and chewing. Maybe I like them even better than my hands…

Counting so many things

I am getting better at counting things. I have been learning more numbers. I even know seven, which is really tricky to remember. I think I know all the numbers now because I can keep counting things until I get bored. Today I was counting the pieces of my jigsaw puzzle with Dad. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13… 14… 15… then I saw my rainbow ball so I went to play with that instead.

I like to count the buttons on my shirt when Dad puts my shirt on. I can also count the buttons on Dad’s shirt even though he has more than me. I can’t count Felix’s buttons yet because Felix is too little to have buttons. But when he gets some buttons I will be able to count them no matter how many there are.
