Is she going to Japan?

By Jay, 3 years old

Mum is going to go to Japan for a holiday soon. Today we were all at home and Mum went out the door and said bye. I asked Dad: “Is she going to Japan?”

Dad said Mum’s not going to Japan yet. He said when she does go she will give us a nice cuddle before she goes. I’m glad she hasn’t gone yet.

Twinkle twinkle

By Felix, 1½ years old

Mum and Dad like to sing. Sometimes Jay sings too. Now I’ve started to learn some songs.

Twinkle twinkle little star!
What you are…

When Mum and Dad sing it there are some other words too. But I like my way.

My favourite books

By Felix, 1½ years old

I always like to choose books for Mum and Dad to read to me. Now I can talk so I can ask for some of my favourites. Lots of my books are called Beginner Books and are written by Dr Seuss and other people with funny names. Here are some of the books I ask for.

“Duck! Feet!” (I Wish That I Had Duck Feet)

“Oud Hat!” (Old Hat New Hat)

What’s wrong?

By Felix, 1½ years old

When I cry Mum and Dad always ask me what’s wrong. Now I have learned some words I can tell them. I was running along and fell over and started crying and Dad came over and said “what’s wrong?” I said “Hurt foot. Hit toy!” Dad started looking at my foot and gave it a kiss but it didn’t make it all better. I was still crying so he picked me up and took me over to the window and we looked out. Then I got to use some other words I know.

“Birds singing!”

Felix is 1½

By Felix, 1½ years old today

Today I am one and a half years old. Dad wanted to know how big I am so he measured me. I am 84.5 cm tall and I weigh 12.2 kg. So even though I am smaller than Jay I am bigger than he was when he was 1½. Maybe I am bigger than Dad was too. But he’s not telling us.
