Chasies

By Felix, 8 months old

Now that I can crawl I can play a really fun game with Jay. It’s called Chasies and it works like this. I am on the floor and Jay comes into the room. I see Jay and straight away I start crawling away from him as fast as I can. (This is not very fast yet.) As I am crawling I stop and look back over my shoulder to see if he is chasing me, then I start crawling away again.

Jay runs after me laughing. I keep trying to get away but he catches up and touches me and we both laugh. Then Jay runs away and then he stops and turns around. Then we start all over again!

Jay coming too

By Jay, 2 years old

Today Pixi and Popcorn (that’s Dad’s own Mum and Dad) came to visit me and Felix. They played with us and we had fun. Then when it was time for dinner they went out to the front door and started saying goodbye. I wanted to keep playing so I went out with them and said

Jay coming too.

I got my shoes and sat down.

Round and round the garden

By Felix, 5 months old

My brother Jay likes playing fun games. One of his favourite games is called “Round and round the garden”. Usually he plays that game with Mum but today he played it with me.

When Mum plays the game with Jay she takes his hand and makes her finger go round on it and says

Round and round the garden
Like a teddy bear
One step…
Two steps…
Tickle under there!

When she says the last part she tickles Jay under the arm and he laughs and giggles. It always looks like so much fun!

My brother looks like me!

By Jay, 21 months old

Today Mum was showing me some baby photos. She asked me who was in the pictures. I said “Felix!” but Mum said they were really pictures of me! Mum says that a long time ago I was a really small baby just like Felix is now. I looked just like Felix does except I think I was a little bit thinner than he is. Maybe one day he will look like me. He’s so lucky.

My brother Felix

By Jay, 19 months old

FelixI have a new baby brother! His name is Felix. He was living inside Mum’s tummy for a while but now he is out and he is very cute. I like little babies and now I have one of my very own.

One day last week Mum started feeling funny. I tried to help her by giving her hugs but she still didn’t feel well. My uncles came to get me and then I stayed at my friend Flint’s house for the night. Then today my uncles picked me up and took me to a place called Birthcare to see Mum and Dad. Felix was there too and Mum showed me that he used to be in her tummy but now he was out. I gave him a little hug because Dad told me to be gentle.

The baby in Mum’s tummy?

By Jay, 1½ years old

A few months ago Mum told me there was a baby in her tummy. So when Mum asks me where the baby is I know to kiss and pat her tummy. I can’t see a baby but Mum’s tummy is getting bigger and bigger. Now when she hugs me, she holds me up high above her tummy or off to one side. This baby already seems to be in the way. I wonder if I will ever see the baby or if it just stays in Mum’s tummy.

Cute screensaver

By Jay, 13 months old

Photo0055.jpgI always wondered where Dad goes when he goes out every morning, because he doesn’t get back home until it’s nearly night. He goes somewhere called “work” but I never used to know what he did there. Now I know because he showed me this picture of where he works. Every day he goes and sits at a desk and looks at pictures of me! He’s so lucky!

Of course I think it would be better if he could look at the real me instead of a picture. Even if it is a cute picture. Maybe one day I will be able to go with him and then he can play with me and I can help him with his “work”.

Happy Mothers’ Day

By Jay, 9 months old

Happy Mothers’ Day, Mum. Thanks for growing me and carrying me and feeding me. And for buying me such nice clothes and cuddling me when I feel sad and cuddling me when I feel happy. And also for smiling at me all the time and singing to me and everything else too.

The Naked Parents

By Jay, 5 months old

Mum says she often feels like she’s on television when she’s at home with me. She stands in the kitchen being very busy, while I sit nearby in my special fun chair. I do get a bit bored sometimes, so Mum talks to me all the time about what she’s doing. I don’t really understand most of it, but it’s just like that English man who is on the television sometimes — The Naked Chef.

Mum has a much nicer voice though.
