I explained how volcanos work to Mum this morning.

“If the lava is under the volcano, then when the volcano erupts the lava gets less and less. Then the volcano collapses and the rain can fall in and we can use it as a swimming pool.”

Thinking about fans

My Nana gave me some books full of paper tickets and I have been making a lot of fans for the last few days. To make a fan you just pull out one of the tickets and hold then corner and twist, twist, twist and keep twisting until it makes the shape of a fan blade. I made lots and lots of fans for Mum’s birthday yesterday.

Dad asked me where I got the idea for making the fans. He wondered if somebody showed me how to do it. So I told him.

Nobody else was doing it.
The think for it came into my head and then the think stayed in my head.
And you can use paper or you can use tickets or whatever you like.

I already know a lot of things

Today I was playing with Mum’s paper cutter and Dad found me. He said that it’s Mum’s cutter and it’s not a toy for me to play with. I told him

“Don’t say that Dad. I already know it’s Mum’s cutter. I already know a lot of things.”

Sometimes it’s annoying when people tell me things that I already know.

Really annoyed

I know I get annoyed sometimes. Today I was playing outside with Felix and we were spraying water with the hose. Dad came out and told us that we were making a mess and we should be careful. I said “No! You shouldn’t say that word!” Dad said “What word?” I said “You shouldn’t say I’m making a mess!” and I sprayed Dad with my water bottle.

Dad didn’t like that so he went away. But next time I saw him I said sorry.

“I’m sorry I sprayed you Dad. But I was really annoyed when you told us not to make a mess.”

A hole in the sky

I was playing with a rock today. Mum asked me what the rock was for so I told her. “It’s for making a hole in the sky!” Mum asked me what was in the hole. “Party food and straws and cups of milk for the party!” It’s going to be a great party in the sky!

Is she going to Japan?

Mum is going to go to Japan for a holiday soon. Today we were all at home and Mum went out the door and said bye. I asked Dad: “Is she going to Japan?”

Dad said Mum’s not going to Japan yet. He said when she does go she will give us a nice cuddle before she goes. I’m glad she hasn’t gone yet.

I like being three years old. I get to have three of everything. I ask Dad for three pieces of toast in the morning, “because I’m three”. I also get three lollies if there are any lollies. At night Mum and Dad read me three bedtime stories, because I’m three.

And next year I will be four!

My Country

I made my own country today. I was playing with my friend Jack in a building with lots of stairs. I was up the top with Jack and then I saw Dad walking up the stairs. I told Dad that he had to stop.

You can’t come to our country. I’ve got to come down and talk to you Dad…

The reason is that if you look at our country it’s very very busy.

It was very busy because Jack and I were running around and playing. Dad said that was OK but he would like to visit my country too. So after a while I told him he could.

You can come to our country now because it’s not so busy any more.

Fly me to the moon

Mum pointed out the moon in the sky tonight. I looked at it because I like the moon and I showed it to Felix. He likes the moon too. Then I had some ideas about the moon which I told to Mum and Dad and Felix:

If you could hold on to a kite you could go high up in the sky, very very high, and then pick up the moon and put it into a bag. Then a bird could go fly, fly, fly up high and if it had hands it could take the moon or if it couldn’t reach the moon it could go to a moon shop where there would be lots of cheaper moons.

Mum and Dad listened very carefully to my story. I think they liked it. Felix didn’t listen though, he just pointed at the moon and said “moon! moon!” But that’s OK because he’s only little.
