I know lots of words so sometimes I like to make up new words to make it more interesting. One of my favourite words is puk. I use it all the time like when Mum asks if I would like a banana and I say “No banana thanks, just puk”. Or “it’s not bath time, it’s puk.” Last night I stayed up very late and Dad said “Oh my goodness, it’s so late! It’s twenty past eight!” But I told him not to worry: “No Dad, it’s only twenty past puk.”

The other day dad tried to talk to me about ice hockey. But I didn’t know what he was talking about. That happens a lot. Maybe it’s just puk.

I don’t like it when Dad dries my hair after a bath. I let him do it because we count up to 10 and then it’s over. If I really don’t want it then we just count up to 5. A few days ago Dad asked me what we should count up to but I didn’t want dry hair so I said “No”! Dad just said OK and counted:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9… no!

That made me giggle! I didn’t mind the hair drying after that. The next night he asked me what to count to and I said “banana!” So Dad counted from 1 up to banana. Counting is boring if you only use numbers.

Yesterday I made up the funniest joke in the world. Every night Dad helps me put my sleeping bag on at bedtime. He tells me “now it’s time for the sleeping bag.” But tonight I asked Dad for something else: the… the… seeping… blag! I said this and then I laughed and laughed. And laughed a bit more. Then I said it again and laughed even more. It is so funny!

I discovered it’s even more funny if you make your voice go up higher at the end as you say seeping… blaaaaag! I just laugh so much. Dad thinks it’s funny too. We both laughed about it a lot today. It’s my new favourite word. Blaaag!

When I see something dirty I always tell Mum or Dad about it. Sometimes it’s me that gets dirty and then they help me get clean again. I visited my Nana Pixie on the weekend and a saw that she was drinking a glass full of dirty dark brown water. Yuck! I tried to tell Dad. “Dirty water!” He just looked at Nana and they both laughed.

Nana has a whole bottle of dirty water in the fridge. She calls it “Coke”. I think it looks nasty and I’m glad Mum and Dad don’t make me drink dirty water.

I wrote about spinning before but I forgot about the best spinning of all. Sometimes Dad picks me up and holds me up so we are face to face. Then he spins around and I spin around with him and it’s so much fun! Whenever Dad says “are you ready for a spin?” I start smiling. And when he picks me up and spins us around I laugh and squeal. First we spin in one direction. Then Dad spins us in the other direction.

After all the spinning Dad puts me down. He shakes his head and walks funny for a minute afterwards. It looks funny! So even after the spinning is over it’s still lots of fun to watch Dad.

I wore my favourite pink shirt to our neighbourhood playground today. It’s a nice shirt and it goes with my skin colour and makes me look even more cute. I took Dad as well so he could play with me. There was a little girl there too, and her Mum was talking with Dad. Of course they were talking about me. The lady pointed to me and said “How old is she?”

Dad thought that was really funny. He told the lady that I am a boy even though I was wearing a pink shirt. She seemed a bit confused. I think whether you are a boy or girl depends on what you look like, not what your clothes look like.

Apparently before I was born lots of people told Mum and Dad that soon there would be the the pitter patter of tiny feet. But now that I am have starting crawling with one leg tucked up under me (more like a bum shuffle really) Mum says it sounds more like thump, bump, bump, thump, bump, bump. Only babies that have houses with wooden floor boards seem to crawl this way. I think it is because the floor boards are so slippery.

I wonder if I will be able to pitter patter before my feet stop being tiny?

Mum and Dad were very busy over the Easter weekend in my room. They took some coloured liquid and pushed it all over the walls. It looked like a lot of fun but they wouldn’t let me help. I did try to play with some of the liquid that fell on the floor but it had turned hard and I couldn’t pick it up.

It is a really nice yellowy green colour and has made my room a lot brighter. It also matches my new roman blind very well. I think my Mum picked it. She has pretty good taste.

Perhaps one day I will be allowed to sleep in my room at night as well as just playing in there and having my nappies changed there.
