  • Hey Bennett…I recently started using Code Markup and ran across a bug of getting double backslashes when putting a backslash into a pre/code block. I might just dig around the plugin’s code to see why it’s doing that, but wanted to give you a heads up and see if you knew about this behavior.

  • Aaron, this problem happens in the newest versions of WP. An earlier commenter said: “The disappearing backslash in pre tags was fixed in WP 2.3, so up to date installs are seeing doubled backslashes in pre tags. I commented out line 60 in tguy_cmu_encode_xml which fixes it.”

I will release a patched version of Code Markup soon.

  • I’ve been at this for hours and thanks to you, I have one problem solved out of three. If it weren’t for you, I’d still be ripping my hair out in the WP Docs. The problem is this- I installed your plug-in, followed the directions about disabling visual editor. I need to include (and have it show up properly) this in my post (it an invisible tracking jigger)

and I also need to include the following sponsors banner.

I’ve tried it with the lang=”html” code, with plain code and with markup=”all” it still comes out with the code showing (or most of it anyway) on my website.
Could you please help me? I would be eternally grateful! Thank you!

  • There was a problem in version 1.2 of Code Markup that caused backslashes in code to be repeated. This bug affected WordPress version 2.3 and greater.

I have updated Code Markup to version 1.3 to fix this problem. Enjoy.
