Nice work Dan. Here on Semicolon I achieve that same effect using two CSS rules:
(The second rule is required by IE6.)
I originally wrote Code Markup simply to allow HTML formatting within code — I’ve left formatting of code blocks up to the theme. Your integrated approach could certainly be more convenient for people who don’t want to edit their theme. Good stuff!
I have 2 important questions:
1) How do I get colored border?
2) How do I get scroll when code is wider than screen?
I have looked in your code style, but I dont get nothing like yours

Dan - would love to see how you changed the plugin to use the allow=”tarea” that you mentioned - I’ve been trying to figure out how to put th code inside of a textarea and can’t seem to get it right…
